jalapeño bacon wrapped Dietz Dogs

ingredients

  1. 8 Dietz & Watson Jalapeno Cheddar Dietz Dogs
  2. 8 slices Dietz & Watson Beef Bacon
  3. ⅓ cup Dietz & Watson Medium Cheddar Cheese (finely shredded)
  4. ½ (8-ounce) cream cheese (softened)
  5. 2 jalapeño peppers (1 finely chopped and 1 thinly sliced crosswise)
  6. ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  7. vegetable oil or cooking spray
  8. 8 hot dog buns
  9. 1 roma tomato, chopped
  10. green onions for garnish (thinly sliced)



directions

  1. Preheat grill to 200-250°F.
  2. Soak toothpicks in water 20 minutes.
  3. In medium bowl mix shredded Dietz & Watson Medium Cheddar Cheese, cream cheese, chopped jalapeño, and garlic powder.
  4. Wrap each Dietz Dog with 1 slice bacon, secure ends with toothpicks, spray with cooking spray.
  5. Spread cream cheese mixture on buns.
  6. Place Dietz Dogs on hot grill rack, cover and cook 12 minutes or until bacon is crisp, turning ¼ turn every 3 minutes. About 3 minutes before hot dogs are done, place buns, cut side up, on hot grill rack; cover and cook 3 minutes or until grill marks appear.
  7. Remove toothpicks from Dietz Dogs, serve in buns topped with tomato, remaining sliced jalapeño and onions.
