Mashed Sweet Potatoes

  • 3 medium sized sweet potatoes (about 2.5 lbs)
  • 4-5 tbsp skim milk or milk of choice
  • 2 tbsp butter, browned
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, minced
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 8 strips Dietz & Watson Originals bacon, cooked & crumbled


  1. 1 Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then cut them into chunks and add them to a pot of water
  2. 2 Bring the potatoes to a boil and let them cook until tender
  3. 3 While the potatoes are cooking, mince the rosemary and brown the butter
  4. 4 When the potatoes are fork tender, drain them then return them to the pot
  5. 5 Add in salt, pepper, minced rosemary, milk, bacon and brown butter
  6. 6 Use a potato masher to mash them to your desired consistency
